Celebrating 25 Years of Kingsford Court

On Wednesday 19th June 2024, we started our 25th Anniversary celebrations with the children from our local school coming in to sing for the residents and we also had a visit from the Mayor of Solihull, Cllr Shahin Ashraf MBE.  One of our owners had arranged for the children to present our owners with plants to put in the garden to mark the celebration.

Then on Saturday 22nd June 2024, we had a party in the lounge with a buffet, drinks and entertainment.  Our fabulous cook, Sally, made a gorgeous celebration cake, we had a great singer, and the staff entertained the owners with some dancing.  It was a great evening enjoyed by all, and thank you to Helen Morrell, Kingsdale’s Estates Director, who took time out of her busy schedule to join in the celebrations.

Sally and Mirilee successfully completed the "Race for Life" event again and raised a massive £711.00 + gift aid for Cancer Research UK.

Thank you to all who contributed.  £160 was raised from Farthing Court Owners alone.

To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, one of Gressland Court's Duty Managers, Lyn, performed some well-known songs from the war years dressed as a land girl.

There were plenty of smiles, flag waving and a few tears as our owners remembered the D-Day celebrations as well as the loss of many loved ones.

Celebrating 20 Years of Brook Court

On Tuesday 4th June the owners got together for “A Day at the Races” to celebrate Brook Court being opened for 20 years.

We started the day off with four races, followed by a short interval for a Strawberry Tea of fresh strawberries, homemade scones, jam and cream.  We continued with another four races to end the day.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and some owners had an added bonus of a pocket full of winnings.  Even those who had never bet on the horses before found it great fun and revelled in the excitement.

We would like to say a special thank you to previous owner Mr Arthur and his partner who organised the races, and to Helen Morrell, Kingsdale's Estates Director, who saw Brook court built, witnessed many changes over the past 20 years, and who found the time in her busy schedule to join in the celebrations.
