Eddington Court held their Christmas lunch at the Beachlands Hotel, Weston-super-Mare, on Wednesday 14th December. Forty residents enjoyed an excellent lunch and were joined by a few friends and relatives, together with Court Manager's Lynette Wright and Richard Farrelly. Following the meal the party continued back at Eddington Court for the Christmas Raffle (and a few more drinks!). A huge thanks to resident Mike Hogan for organising the day.
On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December, we welcomed residents and their family and friends to enjoy a Christmas party meal in the restaurant. All guests enjoyed a three-course meal which was brilliantly prepared by our cooks Olga and Stacey, with the help of our kitchen staff Claire and Joy, and some extra help from Duty Manager Nicki. A big thank you to all the staff who also gave up their time to come in and help ensure the meals were a great success.
There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the weekend with all the Christmas decorations up and the tables set beautifully by General Assistant Sally. It was wonderful to see so many faces and to watch our residents enjoying themselves, especially after a tough couple of years for all. Finally, our Chairman Mr Graham organised and ran a very successful raffle on the Sunday afternoon, with lots of prizes to be won. This was done in aid of Alzheimer’s UK and St Richard’s Hospice. £600 was raised and split evenly between the two charities to help them continue the brilliant work they do. On Wednesday 17th November Mr & Mrs Pringle celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. They invited residents to join them for afternoon tea and cake in the lounge at Eastbank Court. There was a great turn out with lots of well wishes and congratulations. It was lovely to be part of such a mile-stone occasion. A huge Congratulations to the happy couple!
Owners and Staff at Queen Anne Court fashioned their favourite Christmas clothing, raising almost £100 for Gloucester Homeless Soup Kitchen!
Owners gathered for a lovely Christmas High Tea evening last week. They enjoyed sandwiches, cakes, scones, wine, tea and Christmas music.
Residents joined together for the turning on of the Christmas Tree Lights at Brook Court on the 1st December, determined to enjoy Christmas as much as possible this year!
They celebrated with a glass of sherry and a mince pie, plus a visit from Santa Claus himself! A Christmas Hamper Raffle prize with a donation going to our dominated charity was also included. |
