Montrose Court celebrated the Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan with a traditional afternoon tea. The bubbly was flowing as we toasted the happy couple leaving the church. Our owners enjoyed the buffet and drinks before taking our “Royals over the Years” quiz which was enjoyed by everyone.

The streets of Hoylake surrounding Montrose Court have been beautifully decorated with pink blossom lights following sponsorship from local groups and businesses. The tree was sponsored on behalf of the owners at Montrose Court. They are delighted as it is the first tree to be seen on entering Hoylake.
Montrose has welcomed new staff member Elaine Lampkin to our housekeeping department, she has quickly become a wonderful addition to the team. We congratulate our Duty Manager Michelle Heron who has just married her long-time partner John.
Owners were entertained with Christmas carols from the Song Bird as the Christmas lights were switched on. Mulled wine and mince pies were enjoyed by all who came.
The external redecoration and refurbishment work at Montrose is almost complete. Our building is looking as good as new in time for Christmas.
As an 18th birthday treat, Montrose Court has had some redecoration work and is looking superb! Steel work and render has been repainted, apartment doors are fresh with new furniture and our main lift is as good as new. The Court remains popular with potential buyers as news of our social activities and friendly atmosphere spreads far and wide.
Owners recently held a coffee morning in aid of St John’s Hospice raising £330 which was enjoyed by both Owners and visitors. This year we have also introduced theme evening meals and so far have hosted an Oriental Night, Mediterranean Night and French Night. Our next is Winter Warmers before we start planning for Christmas. Montrose has welcomed a number of new owners since Christmas. With the last few apartments now under offer, we look forward to having a full Court soon.
We have enjoyed a Fish and Chip Supper evening, movie nights and are planning a French Evening meal for May to be prepared by our head Chef Francois. Our Social Committee are seeking members for a Boules group as our new purposely lawned Boules area is almost ready thanks to the spring sunshine. We are also hosting a Ladies afternoon high tea at the end of the month... Any excuse to enjoy some clotted cream is welcome at Montrose. We have welcomed 7 new owners to the Court in recent months, all of whom have settled in well and thoroughly enjoy the social activities on offer.
We are looking forward to the festive season with parties, singers and craft events with a very special Christmas Eve event. In honor of the Queen’s 90th birthday, we held our own Royal fancy dress party with high tea and an afternoon of music and dancing. We enjoyed a fish and chip supper evening followed by a film night in support of the RNLI. Our MacMillan Coffee Morning was a great success and brought the local community together. In support of the Wirral Festival of Firsts, our social committee hosted a fantastic exhibition of childhood memorabilia which was a huge success and raised £220 for Claire House.
Montrose Court has enjoyed a St Georges Day Buffet and are preparing for a Royal theme fancy dress party for the Queen’s 90th in June. We will serve high tea followed by a rock and roll duo to continue the party. Photos will follow!
July will see our lounge transformed for Wimbledon, with table top posies and dining table tennis courts... Strawberries and cream all round in front of the big screen. The Owners welcomed Steph Moore as their new General Manager in December 2015. She joins us from Saga Holidays and Warners Hotels and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is really enjoying her new role at the Court.
All apartments have been sold. New Owners welcomed to this busy community. Social activities have included a Easter buffet, film nights, literary group and quiz nights. A redecoration programme for the guest suite and lobby areas is about to start. The longer days will encourage Owners to enjoy the lovely gardens surrounding the Court.
Christmas was a busy time. The lighting of the tree was accompanied by mulled wine and mince pies. The festive season continued with a parties to celebrate any special day! Christmas Lunch was shared by forty Owners and was followed by carols around the piano led by the Court Manager. The Social Committee are busy planning an interesting calendar of activities. These include film nights on the big screen, visiting speakers, the literary group and theatre trips.
