All Owners and staff have cheerfully welcomed Elaine Davis as their new General Manager at Waterford Court.
Waterford Court is feeling festive with lots of celebrations on the calendar including Christmas lunches, carol singers, bingo and parties. There won’t be a dull moment in December. Owners deserve to let their hair down and celebrate after raising a fantastic £242.00 for Marie Curie in November with a coffee morning fundraiser. The New Year will see more quiz nights, film evenings, charity fundraisers and theme evenings.
Waterford Court has said a fond farewell to Pat Jobson after 14 years as General Manager. All staff and owners wish Pat all the very best wishes for the future and look forward to welcoming new General Manager Elaine Davis in the New Year.
Congratulations to Owners Pam and Mike Dyer who got married back in September (see photo below).
Owners and staff enjoyed a night out at the dogs.
Owners took part in a sponsored walk around local Brookvale Lake and park to raise money for this year’s nominated charity – CMV action.
All Christmas menus have gone out, and bookings are currently being taken. Christmas preparations are well underway which include the annual decorating of the Christmas tree accompanied by George Road Baptist Church. A visit from local school children to sing for owners and the Christmas party are coming soon. Owners look forward to welcoming in the new year with drinks and refreshments.
Sales have been agreed on all apartments. There are no resales at this time.
We have welcomed four new owners to Waterford Court so far this year.
The gardener has been busy planting in the inner courtyard and the troughs on the first floor.
Owners are delighted with the new carpet in the lounge and dining room as well as the new furniture carefully selected by them.
New Led lighting has been installed around the development and the benefit in energy saving will be substantial.
Owners celebrated St George’s day again this year with a high tea. Owners raised a glass to toast the Queens special birthday.
As well as in-house regular activities which included a beetle drive, bingo, quiz night, a full social calendar has been planned for the rest of the year.
Owners enjoyed a beer and skittles evening which took place at Hammerwich in Staffordshire last weekend.
A strawberry tea will take place in July.
A garden party is scheduled for August and will include outside activities, games and a tombola. Homemade cakes will be on sale as well as hot dogs and ice creams.
My Husband Walter and I have lived at Waterford Court for 12 months now. It has been one of the most positive decisions we have ever made.
We enjoy the gardens which are well maintained and we can enjoy them without the hard work.
We find the Manager Pat and her staff friendly, approachable and willing to help.
Our lives are fully independent and we feel happy and secure.

Now that the Christmas festivities are over we now look forward to the lighter evenings and to when spring is in the air. The gardener will be busy planting the troughs on the first floor and evergreen clematis for the new trellis archways situated in the inner courtyard.
We welcome three new owners to the Court so far this year. There are just three resale apartments available, so hurry and don’t miss out!
Owners preferred choice of the replacement carpet for the lounge and dining room will be fitted in March, along with new sofas and chairs which have been carefully selected for comfort and ease. The new Led lighting will be fitted on the communal walkways shortly.
Some owners visited the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre this week to see Aladdin. They all thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to make a return visit soon.
A full social calendar has been planned for the forthcoming year which includes a fish and chip supper, a beetle drive and a quiz evening owners versus staff.
The redecoration of the main corridor is now complete and looking fresh. Owners have been asked to select their preferred choice of carpet for the lounge/dining room and which replacement chairs will be suitable with their chosen fabric. The work to replace communal lighting to LED has gone out to tender. The work will be carried out early in the new year.
Owners celebrated the Court's 15th Year Anniversary with a High Tea. A local Councillor, Penny Holbrook, attended as the honoury guest! Christmas menus are being prepared and will go out shortly. December will be a busy month with the decorating of the Court's Christmas tree, the local School Children are visiting to sing carols to Owners, the Choir from George Road Baptist Church will once again perform for Owners and John Richards (singer/entertainer) has been booked for the Christmas party.
There has been a busy social calendar including a full house for a delicious fish and chip supper in February and a musical concert in March. New Owners have been welcomed.
Bonnets are being prepared the annual competition on Easter Monday, with prizes for the best.
The annual St Georges day tea will take place in April. With the warmer weather fast approaching, we will be focusing improving the planting in the communal gardens.
