A Brompton favourite! Owners enjoyed our local Piper, whiskey, good food and entertainment in our Great Hall for Burn’s night 2018. Our owner Mr Duff organised an amazing evening along with the help of Suzie our Duty Manager. All the staff and owners dusted off their tartan outfits for the night. A big thank you to our chef John for his very tasty haggis and Suzie, Carl, Raf, Anna, Ann, Charlotte and Ashley for all their hard work running the event and serving up all the delicious food, wine and whiskey.

Cavendish Court's successful Christmas raffle raised a fantastic £895 for Help the Heroes.
Burns night, complete with Haggis stabbing, a piper and a wee dram raised £80 for the Winter Comfort Homeless charity. The Christmas Hand Bell Ringing concert, organised by the Social group also went down well. Pre Christmas lunch, Christmas Day lunch and Boxing Day brunch were all well attended and thoroughly enjoyed, as was the New Years Eve Buffet and Race night. All Owners and staff have cheerfully welcomed Elaine Davis as their new General Manager at Waterford Court.
On Thursday 11th January all the owners at the Bowling Green threw a surprise party to help their manager, Ian, celebrate his 65th birthday. The only problem is the birthday boy isn’t in the photo as he is behind the camera! Anyway, everyone had a lovely time enjoying the buffet and a glass or two of Cava.
Owners, family and friends enjoyed a 3-course meal and two short plays by owners and staff. Excerpts from Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion written and directed by Mr Harry Foster and Mr David Myland were relished by the audience. The evening was a great success. Thank you to the cast and stage hands David Myland, Harry Foster, Nikki Wilosn, June Lumb, Gordon Duff, Raf Frais-Robles, Ann Lodge, Doreen Foster, Allen Lodge, Enid Adams, Bernard Gardner, Brenda Hammond, Jordan Lomas, Graham Harrison. The Restaurant was decorated to complement the era along with Chef’s (John) menu. A big thank you to Suzie and Carl (Duty Managers) Tracy, Anna and Charlotte (waitress) for organising and handling the astonishing evening.
Eira celebrated in style at Brompton Court in our Great Hall with a fabulous buffet produced by our Duty Manager Suzie and her husband Nick. Owners, friends and staff enjoyed the amazing voice of Freddie Jenkins with his Rat Pack and Elvis songs. Eira would like to give a big thank you to Suzie, Nick, Carl and Sally for their help in planning and running the successful event.
Meggan, one of our housekeepers, is leaving Brompton Court on the 7th January after over 3 years of service. She will be working in the Care industry with Luxury Care, which is the start of her planned career path to social work. We would also like to congratulate Anna Smith who has accepted a Housekeeper Assistant position with us on a permanent basis. We thank Meggan for all her hard work over the years and she will be truly missed by us all. Good Luck!
The festive season was celebrated in earnest this year at Gresham Court with residents enjoying a delicious Christmas meal which came together beautifully with the help of veteran Chef Sean and fresh to the fold Karl. This was followed by lovely meals on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with residents being able to invite guests to share in the festivities. We also started 2018 in traditional style with an evening of canapés and sparkling wine on New Year’s Eve followed by an amazing and very busy New Years Day where we entertained many guests and family members. We all thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas and are looking forward to more activities and trips together in the coming year.
Brompton kicked off 2018 in style with a buffet lunch in our brightly decorated restaurant. With over 50 diners the atmosphere was buzzing. Owners enjoyed a glass of bucks fizz on arrival followed by a 3 course buffet and a glass of wine. Thank you to our Chefs Marcin and Victoria for putting on a lovely spread for all to enjoy.
A lovely evening at Brompton Court organised by our owners Mr & Mrs Guthrie. Owners brought some tasty nibbles and drinks to be enjoyed in the Great Hall. They played some fun quiz’s and games until late where they then moved to the cinema room to watch a Morecombe & Wise Christmas show followed by the count down to the New Year and fireworks display. A wonderful end to 2017.
Owners at Harroway Manor have raised a spectacular £110 for Macmillan by selling Christmas Cards.
Alston Court was looking as good as new ready for Christmas.
The Owners enjoyed many social events including a carol concert, a visit from St Helens Catholic Primary School Choir, an Owners Christmas party and a carol service. Regular social activities include a monthly Whist Drive and a quiz night. Mr & Mrs Bob Foskett celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary at Brook Court surrounded by friends. The staff provided a wonderful buffet enjoyed by all.
