Another fabulous night of food and fun had by all throughout our Italian Evening at Deercote Court. The delicious four course meal was freshly prepared in our kitchen by our Italian staff. We enjoyed some great entertainment with singer Gary Benjafield . He tours the country with his band and is playing at the Harlow Playhouse this October. He specializes in Neil Diamond but does covers for many others as well. Lots of dancing, singing and laughter. A wonderful event! Montrose Court were delighted to host the celebrations of Mike and Phyl Hanson as they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with an afternoon tea surrounded by friends and family. Here’s to many more happy years to come.
Great House Court owners were invited to a sale in the managers cottage in support of The Humane Society and Four Paws. The owners from Sackville Court also visited, it was a lovely morning and everyone went home with a bargain. Sackville College has invited Great House Court to their fund raising coffee morning on Friday.
In September, Lily Lawrence entertained us by ‘Dancing Through the Decades’. As a professional ballet and modern dance performer she was able to show various dances. She even got a couple of our owners dancing. A wonderful event truly enjoyed by all.
Next week we have Rita B entertaining us, preceded by a buffet at the start of the evening. Looking further forward we will be having a Bangers and Mash event early November and then starting the run up to Christmas. Where does the year go? The sale of apartments is going extremely well with eight completing to date and a further two ‘under offer’. All the new owners have settled in well, with many attending the regular monthly events hosted by Alston Court.
All the building work at Eastbank Court is now fully complete and the car park is back to normal!
Three apartments have now been purchased at Eastbank Lodge. Owners continue to enjoy a busy social life at Eastbank Court – An outing to Barry Island and the Dyffryn Gardens had been arranged in August which had proved very popular on a lovely sunny day. Pat Dorman was still a regular visitor to the Court to play the piano and have a sing-a-long with the Owners, which is always great fun. Seated Yoga – Following the taster day, this is proving to be a great success and very well attended by Owners. Eastbank Court are getting ready for the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on 28th September. Mr Graham is busy collecting items for the Tombola. We are not yet ready to say goodbye to this beautiful summer!
Lynne, our Duty Manager, organised a Caribbean Music Celebration on Thursday 6th September. Owners joined us for drinks & a taste of Caribbean nibbles at Brompton Court. Our special guest Jorge performed some Afro, Latin & Caribbean Music for everyone to dance to and Lynne prepared some rum cocktails, ‘’Perfect storm’’ and ‘’Caribbean sunshine’’, to wash down the nibbles. It was a shame we had to move the event inside due to a spot of rain on the day, however it did not stop everyone glowing and staying radiant with smiles. Thank you to Lynne for all her hard work and to Ben, Raf, Tracy and Anna for their help on the day. The Queen Anne Court residents have welcomed new Manager Liz Dovey to the team. Liz is very much looking forward to her new role.
