We recently held our annual BBQ in the garden at Gressland Court for Owners, Family and Friends. We adopted a 1960’s theme with entertainment from Lyn & Bobby. Some of our owners enjoyed dressing for the occasion. We also had a charity fundraiser where we raised £33 each for Help for Heroes and The Royal Airforce Benevolent Fund. A fun day was had by all.
Owners gathered for a lovely Afternoon Tea with a good assortment of finger sandwiches, home made scones, cream and Tiptree jams with yet more cups of tea. Another event at enjoyed by all.
Brompton Court held their second summer fete on Friday 20th July, bigger and better than last year. This year we had more stall holders, a licenced bar and Jazz band. Owners had a great time enjoying drinks on the lawn listening to the band and of course spending their pennies on lots of lovely items from scarfs and bags to homemade jams and arts and crafts. The raffle was run by the Bournemouth Hospital who made over £300.00 on the day as a donation from Brompton Court. Thank you to Ben, our Duty Manager, for organising an amazing and memorable event, and to Ann, Tracy, Anna, Raf and Carl for their help on the day setting up and running our hotdog and ice cream stand. A wonderful event for all.
Making the most of the gorgeous weather, owners organised their own pizza night. New owners Mr and Mrs Ward fetched the Pizzas and owners joined them in the garden in the evening bringing their gin and tonics with them! They enjoyed it so much they are planning for it to be a regular event.
This week Great House Court residents created arm knitted scarves and also had their first attempt at cross stitch. Additionally they had a go at ‘Twisted Stitches’ and jam jar fly’s.
Gressland Court held a Greek themed night with some wonderful Greek food cooked by our chef Jane. The owners finished off the evening with traditional plate smashing; some of our owners even tried Ouzo for the first time. A great event enjoyed by all.
Eastbank Court's Summer barbeque was enjoyed by all; (even though it was too hot to stay outside)...
Celebrating 10 years since Browning Court opened, staff members and owners that have been at Browning Court. Sandwiches, cakes and tea were served along with Champagne to toast to the next ten. A great afternoon was had by all.
The Sun Shone,
The Cakes Devoured, The Sandwiches Sublime (M & S, of course) And the Pimm's Flowed. A great afternoon for all. Over 40 owners joined Suzie and Carl, our Duty Managers, on the decking on Monday evening for a glass of Pimm’s with strawberries and cream. Thank you to Anna and Tracy for all their hard work making sure the owners were topped up and comfortable. Our surprise entertainment went down a treat; this is the first time the Bourne River Morris Men have been to Brompton and they got a warm welcome from all, with a great applause at the end of the evening.
A Pimm`s and Strawberry afternoon was enjoyed by all the owners at Brackenbury Manor, making the most of sitting out in the gardens in this glorious weather.
