As always, Brompton enjoyed a beautifully prepared buffet lunch by our chef’s John and Marcin, along with a glass of wine and then coffee in your Great Hall listening to our local pianist David Walsh. Lunch was serviced by Anna, Tracy, Ashley and Lesley with the support of the Duty Manager Carl and Sally.

"Age is just a number. It’s totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine.”
Another famous wine tasting evening at Brompton Court, organised by our Duty manager Carl. Owners tasted wines from all over the world with complementary cheese and biscuits. “Making good wine is a skill. Fine wine is an art” – Robert Mondavi. Owners enjoyed a Mad Hatters tea party on Monday 21st May at Brompton Court organised by our Duty Managers Ben and Lynne with a little help on the day from Anna & Tracy, who all got into the spirit of the event in their fancy dress costumes. Cake, tea and treats were enjoyed by all, along with a special potion drink. “Have we gone mad? I’m afraid so, but let me tell you something, the best people usually are.”
It has been a busy couple of months at Gresham Court! We celebrated St Georges Day in April with delicious homemade Fish and Chips and an exhilarating Bingo evening that saw many lovely prizes presented. This was followed by our May Day Bank holiday meal with an exciting new menu this year including baked Avocado and stilton and Cod wrapped in Smoked Bacon which the owners particularly enjoyed. Last but not least we raised a toast to the lovely couple at our Royal Wedding celebrations in the lounge! Such a spectacular event was followed up with a glass of bubbly with lunch. We are looking forward to a lovely summer ahead with lots of activities planned.
Brompton celebrated the royal wedding in style on Saturday with a traditional finger sandwich lunch and a glass of prosecco to toast the happy couple. The whole event was put on our cinema system in our hobbies room for all to enjoy the run up and the ceremony. Thank you to Suzie for organising the owners to celebrate this special day.
Great House Court raised quite a few glasses to the happy couple, Harry and Meghan, with their Royal party.
Owners enjoyed a fabulous party on Saturday at Browning Court in celebration of the exciting Royal Wedding, including a beautiful cake made by our cook, Natalie. Salmon pate followed by Lamb Shank with duchess potatoes and asparagus, a Royal Trifle with Logan berries, blackberries and raspberries, and champagne was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Montrose Court celebrated the Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan with a traditional afternoon tea. The bubbly was flowing as we toasted the happy couple leaving the church. Our owners enjoyed the buffet and drinks before taking our “Royals over the Years” quiz which was enjoyed by everyone.
Now the nice weather has come out, our friends are enjoying a nice cool bath in the courtyard water fountain at Brompton Court. Thank you to our Duty Manager Ben for managing to take a beautiful picture.
Owners enjoyed our Bingo coffee morning at Brompton Court hosted by our Chef John’s wife in aid for the Lupus charity. All the cakes were homemade by our lovely host, and Sally, our Duty Manager, did a fantastic job of being our bingo caller. The winners enjoyed prizes from bottles of wine to chocolates. All proceeds went to the charity as the Court provided the staff and coffee as their donation to Lupus.
Many congratulations to Major Millie Straker who celebrated her 100th birthday with a party in the Owners’ lounge on Monday 7th May. The wonderful cake is in recognition of her service to the Salvation Army!
