Huge thanks to Lynne for organizing and to the Team here at Brompton for ensuring that a great time was had by all… Suzie, Kelly, Sarah, Mariza, Nicola and Carole. Special thanks to our Chef on the night, John, who laid on a superb buffet.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather to celebrate our Caribbean Night. It was a gorgeous July evening, right in the middle of the heatwave, and Jorge brought a very special vibe to Brompton Court. Everyone enjoyed a great time, the food was fantastic, the cocktails were flowing and there were lots of dance moves too, to boot! Huge thanks to Lynne for organizing and to the Team here at Brompton for ensuring that a great time was had by all… Suzie, Kelly, Sarah, Mariza, Nicola and Carole. Special thanks to our Chef on the night, John, who laid on a superb buffet.

We are pleased to present our side garden created by one of our owners, Mr Griffin, who has recently moved into Deercote Court.
Many owners are taking a walk there to overlook and enjoy this beautiful part of our communal grounds. This is what you call a person who has green fingers! Margaret celebrated her 101st birthday, during Wednesday coffee morning, with many of her friends here at Holmesdale Manor. There were delicious cakes and everyone had a lovely time. Margaret will celebrate her actual birthday on Friday and is looking forward to visits from her family in France soon.
What an enjoyable afternoon with live music and entertainment!
It was a pleasure to welcome Lynda and Rob in Farthing Court performing well known hits from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Owners enjoyed celebrating the ladies final at Wimbledon with a platter of sandwiches, strawberries and Champagne.
Court Manager, Laura Jacobs, left Brompton Court on Maternity Leave, amidst an abundance of gifts for her Baby Shower Leaving Do… such a wonderful turn out of Owners, on a glorious afternoon of warmth and sunshine.
Laura provided cake which was served with tea & coffee, all beautifully decorated with both pink and blue ‘baby toppers’ … so there are bets on, as to what she will be having … all will be revealed on the big day! Joan Ogden gave a short speech, on behalf of the Owners, and Laura also shared a few words of thanks promising to bring her little bundle of joy to the Court in the not too distant future, so everyone can meet her new addition to the family! A big thank you to all Duty Managers & Staff, especially to Suzie, Raf, Nicola & Mariza for all your help in ensuring that everything went to plan. We all wish Laura the best of luck and look forward to hearing her news! It Must Be Pimm’s O’Clock at Brompton Court! What better a way to get us into the mood for our very own World Class Tennis Championship, than our Music & Mingle Wimbledon Warm Up.
Strawberries & cream were served, together with a glass of Pimm’s. Wimbledon was on the big screen and the sun even shone, which was a most pleasant surprise as rain had been forecast! Smiles all around, what a lovely afternoon it was. Our thanks go to Lynne, Nicola, Mariza & Maria, who together made sure that everything went to plan. We would like to thank Calvers for giving us an excellent gardening service whatever the weather. Come rain or shine, Richard, Dean and Carl have gone over and above in making this a beautiful space for us all. Maggie has created a fabulous herb garden and chosen a variety of colourful species of annuals for our pots and many other owners have also designed some lovely displays.
What a treat we had in store for our Owners at Brompton Court with the very talented Hannah Gobbett who came to entertain us for the afternoon.
Hannah started playing the clarinet at the age of eight. After finishing A levels at the local grammar school, she gained a first-class BMus from Canterbury Christ Church University and a Diploma (DipABRSM) in Clarinet Performance. She is now based in Bournemouth, she enjoys playing a variety of instruments and music from orchestral to pit bands, from chamber music to solo recitals. Alongside performing, Hannah also teaches woodwind in both primary and secondary schools. A lovely time had by all with tea and cake served during the interval. Everyone was suitably fed, watered and entertained! Thank you to Suzie for organising and to Lynne and Maria who made sure everything ran smoothly. After the year we have had, any excuse to dress up a little, is a good one! So how lovely that we saw such a nice array of hats and ties for our very own unique take on the Royal Ascot Ladies Day.
Prosecco and nibbles were served, background music played and to add a little fun to the day, a Horse Shoe Pitching Competition took place. Lots of fun was had by all! Thanks to the Brompton Team for all their help Suzie, Carl, Raf , and Claire. |
