News from Weston-Super-Mare

We have already had some glorious sunny days this year at Pegasus Court & Lodge. It has been good to see families on the beach enjoying the sunshine and the little children having donkey rides. The Owners lounge has a great view of all these activities.
The Spring flowers in the garden have been delightful, all ready for the forthcoming visit of The Lady Mayor of Weston, who is coming on 22nd April to talk about her experiences. Tea and cakes are being served, home-made by one of our very generous Owners
A number of Owners are going by mini-bus to Wells market which has a particularly good variety of outside stalls. The cathedral grounds there are also a big attraction.
The regular coffee mornings on Wednesdays and afternoon tea on Saturdays plus flexercise classes and Tai Chi are all continuing so there is plenty to look forward to.

Garden projects this summer at Queen Anne Court

A busy Easter time was enjoyed by all the Owners. There were themed events including Hot Cross Buns, a fresh posy competition, word search and an Easter interest table. An Owner’s 90th birthday was celebrated with a tea for relatives and friends. The Court has welcomed a new duty manager. The garden is full of colour. The gardening committee are working on projects to improve areas of the garden this summer.

Lots of activities at Montrose Court

All apartments have been sold. New Owners welcomed to this busy community. Social activities have included a Easter buffet, film nights, literary group and quiz nights. A redecoration programme for the guest suite and lobby areas is about to start. The longer days will encourage Owners to enjoy the lovely gardens surrounding the Court.

Gressland Court welcomes a new chef

We have recently welcomed a new chef who has brought some great ideas with him. A Burns Night was held at the January which everyone enjoyed. The ground floor is being completely re-decorated with new LED lights to all communal areas. Owners are looking forward to the cost savings. An Easter Egg hunt and basket competition are planned for Easter weekend. The longer summer days will give us the opportunity to hold entertainment in the garden including a BBQ.

Quiz night was good fun at Gresham Court

With Spring just around the corner and Easter and other Bank Holidays approaching fast we are planning some extra events, and some special lunches which are always a good opportunity to catch up and make new friends in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
A very successful Quiz Night with refreshments in February was good fun and we are planning another one soon.
We are looking forward to spending more time in the garden and enjoying the sunshine and longer days.

100th Birthday celebrated at Farthing Court

2015 at Farthing Court started on a musical high with the first meeting of the Court Choir. February was reserved for entertainment with William Smith and a music evening. The refurbishment of our communal rooms is now complete. With new wall finishes, carpets, curtains and furniture the areas look fabulous. We held a very successful and enjoyable Mothering Sunday lunch in our new, bright dining room. Our first owner to reach her 100th Birthday celebrated with a tea party.

Looking forward to theatre trips at Deercote Court

Coffee mornings, card afternoons, scrabble groups and regular clothes and shoe shows have been enjoyed recently. Owners are looking forward to theatre trips at Broxbourne Civic Hall. Our recent Karaoke night was a roaring success with many owners showing off hidden talents. A special Mothering Sunday Day lunch was enjoyed. A super Easter Sunday has also been organised. New LED corridor lighting will be underway shortly. Owners are looking forward to the cost savings.

Waiting list at the ever popular Cavendish Court

The court is now full and we have a waiting list. A number of new Owners have been welcomed recently together with new staff on our house keeping team.
Recent social events have included a talk by Bob Taylor about his early days as a ‘bobby’, successful Mothering Sunday and St. Patrick’s day lunches. The next few months looks equally busy.
LED lighting has been installed in all the corridors. Redecoration of the communal areas is planned for the summer.

Owners continue to enjoy a busy social life. The new committee have lots of new ideas for everyone to enjoy. The gardens are coming into bloom and looking great. The communal areas are about to be re-decorated. New lighting is being installed, curtains and wallpaper replaced.

Brook Court welcomes a new duty manager

Spring has sprung and the garden has come alive with daffodils and tulips and other spring flowers. The social calendar is very busy. Highlights include Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday, a talk on fairgrounds and an evening entertainer. LED lights are being installed in all the communal corridors. Owners will benefit from the savings. A new Duty Manager has been welcomed after the retirement of her predecessor who worked at the Court for ten years.

Easter at Brompton Court

Easter is a lovely time at the Court, the gardens come into bloom with lots of great colour. Our handy man will be jet washing the outdoor seating area the umbrella’s and seat cushions will be going out ready for the warmer weather. On Good Friday the Owners enjoyed coffee and hot cross buns Easter Monday lunch is always a special occasion with a lovely buffet being served. Owner’s guests are welcome as always.

Spring colours in Alston Court gardens

Spring has brought a wonderful display of colour to the gardens. Social events are in full swing with a fish and chip supper planned for St Georges Day. New Owners have been warmly welcomed and enjoying their new lifestyle. The Board are considering proposals for the re-decoration of the communal areas in the next financial year.
