What a lovely site we had in our courtyard this morning; our water fountain had been a little effected by the cold weather. With beautiful ice setting in and around the fountain, it’s the talking point of the day here at Brompton Court.

Gressland Court held a French Bistro night on Saturday 24th February. We had a four course French meal cooked by Jane our Chef, where some of the owners tried Mussels for the first time and loved them. The owners and Lyn, one of our Duty Mangers, dressed up for the occasion. A great night was had by all.
Our Mardi Gras ball was enjoyed by all. The night embodied lots of eating, drinking, singing and dancing with one of our popular entertainers. Oh what fun we had!!
There is always so much going on at Deercote Court; Bingo next week and a magic show with an Afternoon tea already planned for March. What a lovely fulfilling life we all lead here. Brompton Court were proud to host Mrs Lewis' 80th Birthday lunch for over 40 people at the weekend. Mrs Lewis' guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the Great Hall followed by a 3 course lunch in our restaurant and a return to the Great Hall for bubbles and birthday cake.

Several ladies at Priory Manor have been busy knitting around 100 Innocent bottle tops in aid of Age UK – The Big Knit Campaign.
Owners went along to our Great Hall this morning for tea, coffee and our chefs famous Victoria sponge cake to ask questions to our local MP. Thank you to our owner Mrs Ross for inviting him along and to Suzie our Duty Manager for organising the event.
Pancakes on the evening of Shrove Tuesday has become a very enjoyable annual event in the Owners’ Lounge at Pegasus. Home-made pancakes are on offer with an array of different toppings. A delightful way to spend a rainy February evening!
Owners enjoyed the dance troop from Hammond Academy of Performing Arts in our Great Hall. The troop put on a number of dances with many costume changes for the owners to be dazzled by. Along with a glass of wine and nibbles made by our very own Duty Manager Suzie and served by our Duty Manager Carl with the help of Ann and Anna our waitress for the evening, Owners were very impressed with the whole event.
Brompton are very excited to receive their amazing cinema and hobbies room chairs. The owners enjoyed a two and a half hour movie this week as the chairs are so comfortable and supportive. Our Bridge and Scrabble crew’s cannot wait to try them out!
The sale of another apartment is complete, leaving 2 new apartments and 5 re-sales. The new build, housing 6 apartments, is entering phase 3, with 4 apartments already reserved.
The Platinum Wedding Anniversary Celebrations held at the Court for Mr and Mrs Atkins was a lovely event and a fabulous cake was made by Claire our cook. Our Christmas Party weekend was held on the 9th and 10th of December for Owners and their families, which was very well attended. Further Christmas Celebrations involved Carol Singers, a Christmas Past and Christmas Present event, and tea and mince pies held by the resident Church Group. Mr Graham’s Christmas raffle was very successful raising £520 for charity, being split between the Alzheimer’s Society and St Richard’s Hospice. To get the Christmas festivities started the Social Committee arranged a Christmas Shopping Trip to the Hop Pocket, a visit to Webbs Garden Centre and a trip to the local Pantomime to see Aladdin. The Social Committee also organised for Worcester Ukulele Band to come and perform in the Restaurant on the 25th of January. It was very well attended and a fun night was had by all. The Committee plan to invite them back in a few months’ time. Home Instead are holding a cheese and wine event with a quiz and great prizes are on offer during the evening of the 13th of February. Brompton welcomed the Dorset Male Barbershop Chorus for the first time and what a hit they were! Owners enjoyed an array of songs old and new, slow and upbeat, from the group, while enjoying a glass of wine and delicious cheese board in our Great Hall. Suzie and Carl our Duty Managers were on hand to see to all the owners needs and ran the event while also singing along to the great music in style.
Tea and coffee, bacon rolls, croissants with strawberry jam and the newspaper... a lovely morning at Browning Court!
Gloria Milbourne retired on Monday 29th January after 12 years of service at Gressland Court. Everyone wishes Gloria a long and happy retirement.
