Brook Court held a fantastic Halloween buffet lunch today, where Mrs Farmer and Mrs Riad became joint winners for the best dressed.
The Queen's Jubilee Celebrations at Brook Court Kicked off on Wednesday with Jubilee Keep Fit where they did a routine to their favourite songs from the 50’s. Thursday they were treated to a fabulous performance from Elite School of Dance followed by High Tea. Friday they all joined our Street Party Lunch followed by a quiz all about the Queen. Saturday was a BBQ with glasses of Pimm's, which due to the weather was moved inside, then we all went outside for the tree planting to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee by our very own queen Mrs Elizabeth Guest who was born on the same day as Queen Elizabeth II. Mrs Guest had four generations from her family with her to help us celebrate. Sunday was a three course Traditional Sunday Lunch after which they all settled down in the Lounge to watch the Pageant. All owners had a lovely time celebrating, especially after the last two years of restrictions. Residents joined together for the turning on of the Christmas Tree Lights at Brook Court on the 1st December, determined to enjoy Christmas as much as possible this year!
They celebrated with a glass of sherry and a mince pie, plus a visit from Santa Claus himself! A Christmas Hamper Raffle prize with a donation going to our dominated charity was also included. Over the Easter bank holiday, residents of Brook Court entered into a Easter Egg Raffle to raise money for McMillian.
Congratulations to the lucky winners, Mrs Farmer and Mr Carrick who won a Thornton's egg and a selection box. A massive thank you to all the residents of Brook Court who collectively raised £88 for charity. At Brook Court we began our VE Day celebrations, along with our local fire crew, with a minute's silence at 11am. We continued the celebrations keeping to social distancing guidelines. At 12 noon we had a clap in remembrance of VE Day followed by a sing a long. We were joined by West Mercia operations patrol unit who have put a video on their Twitter feed ( opu Worcestershire).
Everyone really enjoyed the morning of celebrations in this very difficult time, which did lift the mood a lot. It was lovely to see all the residents joining in. Brook Court raised a magnificent £817.39 for Macmillan Cancer. This sum included money raised at the summer BBQ and the coffee morning.
Mr & Mrs Bob Foskett celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary at Brook Court surrounded by friends. The staff provided a wonderful buffet enjoyed by all.
