We are pleased to see the owners come out to enjoy the sunny weather and celebrate St Georges day with afternoon tea in our beautiful garden. We are looking forward to having many more celebrations in the near future.
We are pleased to see our owners enjoying their second coffee morning this year, in lovely scenery within our courtyard garden.
We are also looking forward to afternoon tea this Friday, in celebration of St. George’s Day.
On the 17th May our dining room is re-opening which will allow owners to socialise more. We wait to see detailed government instructions as to whether the rule of six will apply.
Later that week Helen our fitness coach is starting a series of six exercise classes. On June 21st (the first day social activities can restart) one of our owners wants her birthday party to be held in the lounge. Also restarting will be our monthly whist drive (1st Thursday) and also the quiz nights (3rd Thursday) together with our regular coffee morning and chat nights. In early July we have a Court arranged social event with a buffet and entertainment with Daryl Kane. In August we will be holding the ‘Pimms on the Patio’ event which is always very well attended. On the same day the new Court Manager, Julie, takes over following the retirement of Andrew who has been in charge for the last 14¾ years. We had a great time celebrating the next stage of coming out of lockdown with a beautiful afternoon tea, a glass of fizz and lots of tea. Owners in their groups of six came out to the gardens for an amazing social afternoon of food and entertainment from the Polly Morris comedy folk band. Thank you to Mr Nathan for allowing us to use his balcony for the band (one of our first owners to move in from when we opened in 2000). A massive thank you to Suzie, our Duty Manager, for organising the event, with help on the day from Nicola, Carl and Kimberley.
Over the Easter bank holiday, residents of Brook Court entered into a Easter Egg Raffle to raise money for McMillian.
Congratulations to the lucky winners, Mrs Farmer and Mr Carrick who won a Thornton's egg and a selection box. A massive thank you to all the residents of Brook Court who collectively raised £88 for charity. Despite still being restricted, Brompton Court celebrated the Easter weekend in style! Thank you to Suzie, one of the Duty Managers, for the amazing decorations around the Court. Owners enjoyed Hot Cross Buns from our Easter helper Ann, and a beautiful themed lunch on Good Friday delivered by Claire and Tracey, followed by a plated buffet lunch with wine delivered by Tracey and Donna on Monday.
