Owners at Brompton Court enjoyed a boat trip from Poole Quay to Wareham on Thursday 30th August. 26 Owners joined Ben & Sally on board the Purbeck Gem and took a truly relaxing trip along the picturesque River Frome to the historic town of Wareham. With a packed lunch provided by the Court and lots of sites and fresh air the day was a massive hit and I am sure we will be going again. Thank you to Ben and Sally for all their hard work in organising the day, from transport to lunches, and making sure everyone had an amazing time.

Brompton celebrated the last bank holiday before Christmas in style. Owners enjoyed a 3 course buffet lunch with wine and then coffee in the Great Hall. Entertainment by the Polly Morris Band, who are a Dorset based comic Folk Band, went down a treat and I am sure we will be welcoming them back again. Thank you to our two chefs John and Marcin for the lovely spread and all the staff on the day; Ben, Raf, Tracy, Anna and Ashely, we would not have been able to do it without you. Our August event was the Annual ‘Pimm's on the Patio’. Owners enjoyed glorious weather that afternoon. Apart from Pimm's, non-alcoholic Summer Surprise and juices were available. A relaxing afternoon for all at Alston.
We cannot wait to welcome out first guests this weekend into our newly refurbished Guest Suite. We have brought the room up to date with new soft furnishings and artwork along with brand new mattresses on the beds. We also welcome some additions to the bathroom from a handrail in the shower, to beautiful towel hooks and artwork. Friends, family and guests are all welcome; it's a great idea to book if you are thinking of Brompton Court for the future. It gives a great feel for the place and all we have to offer. Owners joined us on Thursday 9th August as Les and the band were back to give us a super night of jazz and dancing at Brompton Court. Everyone joined us in the Great Hall for a drinks reception and Jazz music, then made their way to the dining room for an amazing Indian buffet which was followed by heading back to the Great Hall for more jazz, ice creams and coffee to finish off a perfect evening. Suzie made an amazing effort in decorating our dining room, planning the menu and booking the band. A big thanks to Chef, Carl, Sarah, Anna and Ashley for their help on the night with Suzie to ensure everything went smoothly.
Former Army Commando, Personal Trainer and now Court Manager Michael Moore regularly puts the residents of Regent Court through their paces! Every other Tuesday Michael takes a gentle exercise class encouraging stretching and movement. Those that join in really enjoy the session and do as much or as little as they like. Michael uses stretchy rubber bands, balls and dumbbells for a bit of fun and the class gets bigger every time. This summer has seen some fresh new events commence at the court as well as the return of some old favourites... June saw the return of our Cheese and Wine evening, now being hosted by one of our Duty Managers, which has been long awaited as it is a firm favourite at Gresham. A fine selection of cheeses and wines from around the world are enjoyed over scintillating conversation and great company. We also hosted a tennis-inspired Strawberries and Fizz evening which was enjoyed by several owners and is definitely an event we will be repeating while we can enjoy the warm summer evenings! Our summer Pimm’s night was also a success (you may have noticed a theme here!) with our residents enjoying sipping cocktails on the terrace together. Some of our residents opted to watch the Wimbledon men’s and women’s finals together in the lounge where the atmosphere was tense at times! And finally our annual Summer BBQ was held on July 31st on the terrace and was attended by lots of our residents and several guests as well. The food and wine were well received and we had an great afternoon, luckily with no rain! |
