Our annual Summer BBQ was held on July 24th on the terrace and was attended by lots of our residents and several guests as well. The food and wine were well received, and we had an great afternoon, luckily with no rain. Thanks to our cook Sami and all the staff for their help.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all at our Barbecue supper event with the fabulous entertainer Gary Benjafield. He sings all the Neil Diamond songs and tours the country with his backing group. He has been here before and will definitely be back again.
Family and friends gathered together to celebrate Mrs Pocket's 100th Birthday. A wonderful event enjoyed by all.
On the evening of 8th July, another very successful Summer BBQ took place at Eastbank Court. This event is always very popular with the residents and the weather couldn’t have been better for them to sit outside to enjoy all the lovely food, drink and company.
Darwin Manor held their Pimm's, Scones and Strawberries afternoon on 10th July 2019, making use of the brilliant new garden furniture. What a lovely way for our owners to spend an afternoon!
The Community Trishaw came to Brackenbury to give the owners a spin. It can be booked to take you to the shops or into the village, even if you just fancy an afternoon ride, the volunteers are happy to take you.
This summer has seen some fresh new events commence at the court as well as the return of some old favourites.
June saw the return of our Cheese and Wine evening, now being hosted by one of our Duty Manager's, Lesley, which has been long awaited as it is a firm favourite at Gresham. A fine selection of cheeses and wines from around the world are enjoyed over scintillating conversation and great company. We also hosted a Cream Tea evening which was enjoyed by several owners and is definitely an event we will be repeating while we can enjoy the warm summer evenings! Our summer Pimm’s night was also a success (you may have noticed a theme here!) with our residents enjoying sipping cocktails on the terrace together. Also, we raised our glasses for a 100th Birthday to one of our residents. Mr Ferguson turned 100 on 16th of June. Congratulations Mr Ferguson! Montrose hosted a vintage afternoon tea to celebrate Mrs Spencer’s birthday. 45 Close family and friends gathered together and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of Champagne, tea, sandwiches and cakes. It was a wonderful celebration and a number of owners have asked if they can have exactly the same for their birthdays in the months to come! Looks like we have a busy few months ahead.
On 25th June a group of 12 residents had an outing to the Severn Valley Railway and visited the Engine House at Highley. This was a great success and enjoyed by everyone that attended.
