Our generous owners at both Holmesdale Manor and Great House Court combined forces to raise £245.70 for the MacMillan Biggest Coffee Morning. Well done to all who participated!

Irene’s Birthday Party in October was a really lovely event at Holmesdale Manor with her two daughters working hard to make it a great afternoon.
On 4th November, Eastbank Court ran a ‘Movember’ Event which was held to support National Men’s Awareness Month.
Instead of the usual charge for afternoon tea and cake, Owners were invited to make a donation and the proceeds were given towards the Charity for Prostate Cancer. They were also invited to wear a ‘stick on’ moustache, which you will see by the photo’s some did! Staff were also allowed to come into work in clothes of their choice and wear a ‘stick on’ moustache in return for donating at least £1 towards this Charity. A grand total of £117.65p was raised towards this worthy cause. Yet another well enjoyed Halloween fancy dress party and buffet supper by Owners and staff at Deercote Court... Wicked food, spooky games, creepy decorations and carved pumpkins also contributed to the great success of this event.
Many thanks to Kathleen, Val, Maggie and Janice for organising the cheese and wine evening at Holmesdale on the 7/11/19. A fantastic range of cheeses were on offer, all the wine was drunk and the singer was great! A brilliant event enjoyed by all.
A craft fair was held in the owners' lounge at Brackenbury Manor which was well attended with both owners and visitors buying Christmas gifts.
A Christmas card sale also took place on Thursday's coffee morning in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity which was enjoyed by all. Owners and staff enjoyed a fantastic Halloween fancy dress party at The Bridges with a themed evening buffet and drinks. Owners were on their feet dancing the night away to music from local singer and entertainer Alana. Prizes were given for the best dressed. As the saying goes… If you’ve got it, haunt it!
There is lots to look forward to in the weeks ahead including Remembrance Sunday’s special lunch with a film evening, a celebrity wine tasting afternoon and a Christmas party. After a wet October one of our Duty Managers, Julie, decided to cheer everyone up in November by raising money for Macmillan Nurses with 'Brave the Shave' event. She raised a fantastic sum of £1,600!
On the evening of 31st October, Eastbank Court held another very successful Fine Dining Evening. This was an extremely popular event which was enjoyed by all that attended.
Again, it was a lovely social occasion and a good opportunity to have a delicious selection of ‘Fine Dining’ food, all of which was expertly cooked by Nicki Hardy, Court Manager, Nicki McGonigle, Duty Manager and Olga Cramm, Cook. As you can see from the photographs, the food looked and tasted delicious! |
