Yes, it is Henry Zeffman, the Chief Political Correspondent for the BBC. For us at Farthing, he is first and foremost Shirley’s grandson. The photos below were taken during and after the talk that Henry was so kind to give for our Owners about his successful professional journey, followed by Q & A on a wide range of subjects. He was extremely well received and left our Owners wanting more! |

The Browning Court Arms was opened for a pub celebration, serving pork crackles and apple sauce, baskets of chips and bar snacks. The event was filled with fun, laughter and singing.
Chez Fred boasts the best fish and chips in Bournemouth and has always been popular here at Brompton so any excuse will do to order in a takeaway!
Joining us this evening was a young gentleman called Michael ( aged 16!) who is starting out doing small gigs here and there, entertaining people with his close up card magic. He really enjoyed meeting the owners and wowed them with his magic and charm.
We had the pleasure of Roxanne, a folk/sea shanti musician, returning to Brompton, performing a mixture of her own works and well-known songs. A very talented lady with a beautiful voice… Her loyal companion, Rebel, a beautifully behaved collie was an added extra enjoyed by all. A lovely afternoon indeed.
“She has been living in Farthing Court now since 2007 and for me and my sister it become another home and I have thanked everyone who works here for creating such a caring and happy atmosphere for its residents. All the managers - Mihaela, Olivera, Helen, Yasmin, Farah and Anu – as well as all the cleaning and kitchen staff – have always been superb and I can’t think of a better environment for people in their golden years.” Mrs Miller said to her son that the hardest part of getting to her current age is that there is not much to look forward to any more. So, next year, it is in the diary, there is going to be an even bigger party than this year for her to look forward to. A week later we celebrated the 90th Birthday of Renee Miller.
There were three parties held to make sure everyone was invited and had a chance to wish Renee a Happy Birthday. Renee has kindly asked her guests not to bring gifts, but, if they are happy, to make a charity donation to Hatzola Edgware Emergency Services instead. More than £200 was collected! |
