Brompton Court enjoyed a great fish supper and play night with the local amdram coming along to perform a short play called ‘Husbands Supplied’ featuring one of our own staff members, Anne. Fifty fish & chip takeaways were ordered from our local award winning fish & chip shop Chez Fred. The plot was about multiple women fighting over one man… in reality, everyone was fighting over the mushy peas! All in all, it was a full house and full stomachs as everyone tucked into their meals before the comedy capers began… who did order the mushy peas?
Montrose Court has enjoyed a busy few months with lots of social events for owners and visitors. Dame Lorna Muirhead gave a fascinating talk on her experiences as Lord Lieutenant of Liverpool in August. Owners hosted a coffee and crafts morning in October in aid of St John’s Hospice raising a fantastic £520 for the charity. The social calendar is building towards Christmas with festive lunches planned, a day trip out to the Chester Christmas market, film nights and parties. It’s no wonder Montrose Court has a long list of people interested in living here. A wonderfully social place to enjoy retirement.
September 27, 2019 saw the Great Hall of Brompton Court transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour and a phantasmagoria of bustling activity by the energetic staff and an army of enthusiastic volunteers alike as Brompton Court came together to celebrate the world's biggest coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
In line with previous years efforts, staff and volunteers made it the most successful one ever with over £1,700 being raised.
Judy’s Jams, Guess-the-weight-of-the-cake, Name that bear, and an opportunity to win a bottle of whiskey all contributed to this most splendid of occasions resulting in the majestic sum of over £1,700 being raised.
