A wonderful afternoon with pianist Richard Pierce and guest singer, our very own Tony Letts! Owners had a blast with the last of the summer days in our gardens. Tony and Richard put on an amazing show. Owners brought along their own wine and nibbles to enjoy while Brompton provided soft drinks, tea and coffee. A big thank you to Frances and Daniel for ensuring the event went with out a hitch.

On Wednesday 23rd August the owners at Eastbank Court were treated to a cheese and wine evening put on free of charge by ‘Home Instead’. There was a great turn out with over 40 owners enjoying lots of different cheeses and trying out various wines. Home Instead also put on a quiz with the prizes being a bottle of Whiskey and a bottle of Brandy. The evening was really enjoyed by all who attended! On Monday 14th September all the owners got together to celebrate Miss Cope’s 90th Birthday. Chef Olga made a ‘chocolatey and gooey’ cake at Miss Cope’s request which was enjoyed by all with a cup of tea or coffee. A big Happy Birthday to Miss Cope from all at Eastbank Court. 
Owners at Deercote Court and their guests enjoyed another successful event in August: Ploughman’s supper followed by an ABBA tribute. You can dance… You can jive… Having the time of your life… Lucy’s Dance Club is for ladies of a certain age who love the musicals and for their fitness and pleasure, they meet weekly and learn dance routines to many favourite songs and show tunes. Ann, one of our housekeepers who retired last year, is part of Lucy’s Dance Club and she has organised a 30 minute show for us. The lovely ladies also put on a small play and poetry readings for our owners.
  The weather held and was kind to us last weekend for our Summer Fete organised by our Duty Manager Carole. Owners enjoyed a selection of stall holders with clothes, crafts, paper and wooden handmade items, jams and chutneys, candles, jewellery, homemade cakes by one of our owners for Scope, and a raffle and tombola again run by one of our owners for Forest Holme. A bouncy castle for the children and of course Pimm’s and a selection of drinks and ice creams to enjoy whilst relaxing on our patio area and socializing with all our owners and guests for the afternoon. Thank you to Frances, Maria and Stacey who supported Carole on the day. We were very blessed with the glorious sunshine, loads of food and soft drinks. And finally, a little surprise for the owners, guitarist Raffaele joined in and played a few lovely tunes. Acoustic singer songwriter Roxanne, a soulful and captivating folk musician hailing from the picturesque coastal town of Bournemouth. Born and raised in Devon, Roxanne has developed an early love for music, drawn to the rich heritage of folk traditions passed down through generations. As a young troubadour, she would often wander the shores finding inspiration in the natural beauty that surrounds the coastal town. This connection to nature and a deep appreciation for the stories that lie within it can be heard in every note and lyric she weaves into her enchanting songs. |
