A fascinating visit to the historic home awaited us all as we walked in the footsteps of SIR WALTER RALEIGH in the home he built more than 400 years ago. We discovered magnificent staterooms, a Tudor kitchen and the Family Museum in the Castle's cellars! With 42 acres of beautiful English landscape gardens, we marvelled at the spectacular views. We took lunch in the award winning Tea Room and then browsed the Gift Shop for a souvenir or two of our visit. Derek the coach driver was a star and a good day was had by all. Thank you Sally for organising a great day... next stop- Kinston Lacy!
What a treat the owners and guest enjoyed on Friday night! …Cheese & wine followed by a music recital with special guest, the very talented Hannah Gobbet, playing clarinet & saxophone, and George Horrell (conductor of the St George’s singers) playing the piano during the interval.
Sunset Duo performed for the residents today at Holmesdale Manor. In fact, the duo turned out to be a solo but that did not stop the enjoyment. It was a great performance. A special thanks to Frank, Kathryn, Maggie and Valerie for organising the event.
