Owners enjoyed a Strawberry Tea with strawberries and cream, home-made scones, lashings of clotted cream, jam and plenty of cups of tea. A new favourite at Alston Court.
Owners were invited along to the Great Hall by Brompton Court owner and resident Mr Myland, to celebrate his 89th Birthday. Mr Myland provided a lovely selection of canapes with a glass of bubbly and wine for everyone to enjoy. Ben, Carl, Ann and Sarah had a great time preparing the food and drinks for the party and ensuring all the owners stayed topped up throughout the evening.
Great House Court residents created The Butterfly Tree at our latest June craft session. It's purpose is for memories, names, poems and thoughts.
Owners and staff bid a fond farewell to Pauline Wilson, Court Manager, after eleven years of service. She has recently managed a total refurbishment of all the communal areas which look great. Everyone involved with Farthing Court wishes Pauline and her family well in their new life.
Owners joined Suzie and Carl for their popular quiz night to brush off those cobwebs and get the brain cells working with nibbles and wine. The winning team were treated to a bottle of wine and chocolate prizes.
Mr Smith put on one of his famous music nights for all the owners to enjoy on Friday evening. Owners listened to a selection of music ranging from the 30’s through to the modern sounds of today. They brought along their own wine & nibbles, sat backed and enjoyed!
A special Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all for Father’s Day. Brompton handed out a bottle of beer or a shandy for all who dined on the day. Thank you to our great Sunday team for making the day extra special.
A massive congratulations to Eastbank Court's Manager Nicki on her marriage to Simon Hardy on Friday 8th June. Celebrations at Eastbank Court were enjoyed by all.
Summer is here at last and Pegasus Court and Lodge residents are out and about enjoying the sunshine.
There has recently been a mini-bus trip to Coates English Willow centre, near Taunton, which everyone found very interesting; and another trip planned to Castle Combe in July. On 15th and 16th June The Promenade and Beach Lawns here will host the National Refuse Championships... and on the 20th there’s the “race for life” on the beach. There is always something going on in Weston! We are all delighted with our new heaters at Harroway Manor. They were fitted at the end of May by Sunflow who did an excellent job of installing them. They are very sleek and a great improvement on our previous electric wall heaters.
They're back for another season and the Boules are as popular as ever at Brompton Court with this beautiful weather. Thank you to Mr John Guthrie and Mrs Margaret Guthrie for organising the weekly activity. Owners enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the Great Hall or the gardens before heading to the lawn for all the action of the game.
With the sun shining brightly, we had a great turn out for our June fish and chip lunch in the garden.
Owners had a great time at Brompton Court indulging in our chocolate treats and homemade chocolate strawberries by our chef. All washed down with a nice fresh glass of gin or wine. Suzie and Laura had a great time playing the bar maid role and making sure the owners had everything they needed to enjoy our Jazz singer who put on a great show.
