We wished a very Happy 93rd Birthday to our owner Mr Sam Thompson this month. A very special thank you to Sophie who organised a cake and Sam’s friends to meet him in the Great Hall to celebrate. Happy Birthday Sam from all of us at Brompton Court.

We were so excited to welcome back Rachel More who had us rocking all around the Christmas tree with a sprinkling of Christmas classics, party songs from across the decades, and hit tunes from artists such as Abba, Diana Ross and many more. We enjoyed 'La Bamba', a little ‘Da Doo Ron Ron’, 'Waterloo' and ‘Dancing Queen'. Our Chef Fernanda prepared an amazing hot and cold Christmas themed buffet for all whilst the team, Suzie, Nicola and Ashley, waited on our owners every needs ensuring glasses were full and all joined in with the dancing. It was a night to remember and perfect for getting everyone in the Christmas spirit at Brompton Court!  We had a very successful Chanukah Tea at Farthing Court featuring homemade fresh latkes, smoked salmon and cream cheese bridge rolls, egg and cress bridge rolls, doughnuts and fruit cake. We received many compliments and messages, such as: "Dear Mihaela and staff, Thank you to all who were involved in yesterday's event. You provided not just an excellent tea but the way the dining room was laid up all added to making it very special. Your chef also did an excellent job and his latkes were delicious! Best wishes Braham Fredman" James, Farah, Anu, Toba, and Eugenia, your hard work definitely has not gone unnoticed!
Brompton Court really got into that Christmas spirit with a lovely evening of mulled wine, mince pies and the beautiful harmonies of Bournemouth Community Voice Choir. What a lovely setting in our Great Hall with twinkling Christmas lights and impressive Christmas tree to enjoy this festive evening. The evening raised a generous payment to Forest Holmes Hospice, arranged by our lovely Vicky through a wonderful raffle with great prizes. Thank you to Vicky and all the staff.  This year we decided to host a Christmas Fair to raise money for our real Christmas trees. We are all looking forward to carols around the tree followed by hot chocolate and a slice of stollen. Owners and their families also enjoyed a pre-Christmas lunch followed by coffee and after dinner mints. There are many more celebrations to be had including a supper served in the restaurant for New Year, followed by live signing, champagne and chocolates.   |
