The owners at Gresham Court had a lovely cold meat platter with a vegetarian option to wind down after the Christmas lunch on Boxing Day. Sadly no photos were taken for Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve but all events were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed. Continuing the Christmas celebrations with fine food and drink at Brompton Court! Thank you once again to Chef Fernanda and her team, Ashley, Daniel and Tracey, and to Duty Manager's Frances and Suzie.
One Line John’s Fun Music Quiz
Talk about blowing your own trumpet… Anyone who is familiar with one particular Brompton owner John, knows he likes to burst into song at any opportunity, usually with just one line… but tonight he was full of puff as he played a few notes on his trumpet and (thankfully) others were able to ‘name that tune!’ He even had his organ on display to tinkle with once his puff failed to last the course… There were prizes for the winners and John was a very good sport hosting the event with assistance from good friend and neighbour, Joan. A fun night was had indeed! Bravo John! The big day has come… Santa (Eddy our Handyman!) came to Brompton delivering little gifts of joy to our owners! What a great lunch they all had, a traditional fare with all the trimmings. Many thanks to Duty Manager Maria, Chef Fernanda and the dedicated team, Ashley, Daniel and Saka for all their hard work. Bravo!
Christmas officially started at Eastbank Court on the 9th December. Friends and family were invited for a Christmas lunch with over 150 people enjoying a three-course meal in the restaurant across the weekend. The food was enjoyed by all and everyone was very appreciative of all the hard work that went into the preparing and cooking of the meal.
We then enjoyed many festive activities with Pianist Pat Dorman coming in during afternoon tea on 11th December for a festive sing-along, the Worcester handbell ringers treating owners to some beautiful music on 18th December and the Northwick Primary School choir coming along to sing some songs for the owners on 19th December. Christmas day was also a big success with another brilliant meal cooked for owners who were spending the day with us. All in all, it has been a great Christmas period! We had the privilege of welcoming Michelle Nova and the La Nova Singers to Brompton Court, and what a performance! The owners were greeted once again with mulled wine, warm mince pies and beautiful dressed singers… Let the concert begin!
Recognised as the premier women’s choir in the Dorset area, La Nova Singers brought some of the most vibrant and exciting choral music to life in the perfect setting of the Great Hall. They performed an eclectic repertoire of classical, sacred, operatic and contemporary music. The distinctive sound comes from shared training in the ‘Bel Canto’ technique taught by musical director and soprano, Michelle Nova. After the concert, Michelle, Pianist Simon and the singers stayed behind to chat with the owners and promised to return in the new year. An evening of pure magic… Wonderful! We would like to wish you all a magical Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2024. From Ewa and the Staff Owners at Deercote Court, together with their guests, celebrated their annual Christmas party this week. From festive food to top-notch entertainment, it was an enjoyable night to mark Christmas 2023. Cheers to 2024!
Our lovely gathering on the 18th of December of Pegasus Court and Pegasus Lodge’s owners with over 30 people attending was a wonderful event full of fun festivities. Thank you to Michelle and Rita for organising this event, and to Mike for providing the music. Merry Christmas from all at Pegasus!
We had a very enjoyable carol concert at Gresham on the 16th of December, with over 30 people in attendance. Lots of mulled wine and mince pies were eaten! Purley Baptist Church provided the choir, keyboard and saxophone player. A special thanks to Alan for helping to organise this wonderful event.
