The Owners and staff at Brackenbury Manor held a Pimms and Cake afternoon at the end of June to say farewell to Paul, who is retiring, he has been a Duty Manager at the Court for 9 years. He will be greatly missed by everyone. He plans to play a lot more golf and will be Volunteering to drive the local minibus.
A fantastic £120.00 was raised for the new Mini bus fund at a recent Bingo afternoon held by the social group at Brackenbury Manor. They have a target of £600.00 and so far have raised £145.00.
The new Manager, Rose Woodley, supplied some lovely home made cakes for the weekly coffee morning, which was well attended. We are holding an Easter Card Making Workshop, run by Generation Friends, who are a group of young people looking for opportunities for young and older people getting together. This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning held on Thursday 29th September 2016 was our best ever. Thanks to the generosity of our Owners, we raised an amazing £637!
We enjoyed coffee/tea and a selection of lovely homemade cakes kindly made by some of our Owners. We sold hats, scarfs and soft toys very generously knitted by one of our Owners and we held a raffle, the most successful one we have ever had. Lynn, Manager celebrated her birthday by treating the Owners to cake at the weekly coffee morning. We invited Neil Davies a representative from the Histon and Impington Mini Bus Committee and presented him with a cheque for £641, which was raised by all the Owners in 2015 from various events, such as drinks and nibbles nights, a cheese & wine evening & hot cross bun event.
Brackenbury has been redecorated! Phase One back in 2013 consisted of corridors, Guest Suite and Guest Toilet being redecorated. Phase two has now completed with the Owner’s Lounge, Kitchen, Stairwells and Office decorated.
Our new LED lighting was also installed last year making Brackenbury Manor look very stylish! Dull January brightened up by Afternoon of fun at Brackenbury Manor's Chinese Auction & Tea29/1/2016 The annual Chinese Auction was held on 26th January auctioning new and unused gifts. The afternoon consisted of afternoon tea as well as the auction. £242.70 was raised and donated to the fund for a new mini bus for Histon and Impington and Marie Curie.
Brackenbury Manor held their annual Macmillan Coffee Morning Event on Friday September 25th. The event was well supported and raised a total of £420. The coffee morning included a knitted toy sale and ‘Guess the number of spots on the cake’ competition.
