Eastbank Court held it's Owners Christmas Party weekend on 9th and 10th of December. The tombola raised a grand total of £520 and the proceeds will be split between St. Richard’s Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society. An enjoyable weekend for all owners, staff and family.

Mr and Mrs Atkins enjoyed a wonderful party at Eastbank Court to celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary. They greatly appreciated all the effort the staff put in to make it such a happy day.
Eastbank Court has been busy raising money for Charity. Our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September was very well supported and raised a grant total of £452.81p! £236.68p of this was raised by a very popular Tombola Stall run by one of our Owners, Mr Keith Graham.
Another Quiz evening in aid of the R.N.L.I. was held on 10th October and the fish & chip supper was appreciated by all. We raised a fantastic £100.00. Eastbank Court raised £452.81 for MacMillan Nurses at their coffee morning!
A trip to Weston-Super-Mare was thoroughly enjoyed by all who went. It was a lovely sunny day in August and the coach driver made the most of the weather by taking the scenic route back to Eastbank Court.
Evesham Country Park was also a great success. The return journey through the Cotswolds and was most enjoyable. On the evening of the 4th July, 42 Owners attended the annual barbeque at Eastbank Court. A glorious sunny evening, enabled the event to be held in the beautiful gardens. Gorgeous food was washed down with copious amounts of Sangria. The hard work by all the staff was praised and the evening talked about for days after.
Eastbank Court has recently welcomed several new Owners and 2 more are awaiting completion. There are now only 4 apartments left for sale.
Building work for 6 two bedroom apartments at the Court commenced in April and completion is planned for April 2018. A Poetry Group has recently been set up by one of our Owners, Mr Lewis. The group meets monthly where they bring along poems of a particular theme chosen at the previous meeting. Another Owner, Mrs Maylor organised two canal trips in April which proved to be so popular, that a further trip was organised for the beginning of May. Also an Alzheimer’s Society Quiz and Fish Supper took place in March which was very well received and raised £252.24 for the Society. There have been a number of milestone birthday parties celebrated recently and the Court will also be hosting another summer BBQ in July, which was very well attended last year, so fingers crossed for another sunny summer evening. The Social Committee have been busy arranging events for Owners due to take place shortly. An outing to Weston-Super-Mare is planned in August and a musical evening featuring a local band ‘The Cocktail Hour’ are just some of the forthcoming attractions. Following the very successful Christmas Meal weekend, which saw our Owners enjoying a wonderful time with their families, we held a New Year’s Eve celebration in our Piano Bar. This was a Champagne buffet and was well attended and enjoyed by all.
Eastbank Court has welcomed several new Owners since December more are awaiting completion, we now have only 5 new apartments left for sale. We are pleased to see social events being planned by Owners to entertain their fellow neighbours. Mr Ron Moors & Mrs Pauline Arksey are each presenting a Classical Music Presentation in January & February respectively. We are having two Speakers visiting us to talk about local historic locations. The first being the famous Witley Court and then the following week details of the Restoration of Droitwich Canal. The latter is a precursor to a Canal Trip that will follow later in the year. We are hosting a Thai Meal Evening in February and ticket sales for this event have been very good. Our owners continue to enjoy a wide variety of activities here at Eastbank Court.
This year has seen the addition of a weekly keep fit class designed specifically to meet the needs of our owners. This has had an excellent turnout and provided a great way for new owners to meet up and make new friends. In April we hosted a musical evening by a duo called ‘Cocktail Hour’, this reflected the easy listening music that was very much appreciated by the large audience. In May we catered for a 90th Birthday celebration, this was an R.A.F. themed event to celebrate the remarkable achievement of one of our gentleman residents. This was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all. Also in May, one of our owners hosted a Jazz afternoon event. This was the first of its kind and well supported. In June we are holding a ‘Cream Tea’ afternoon to celebrate another 90th birthday. This time it is in honour of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 2nd. Eastbank Court has now been open for nearly four years and is 75% occupied. Our Owners enjoy regular activities and events, along with key events depending on the month.
December will enjoy Bell ringing with a local choir, sing-a-long with music, mulled wine and mince pies. An Owners' Christmas lunch spread over two days is now fully booked and an increased number has booked for Christmas Day lunch. A raffle has been organised by an Owner with 50% of the proceeds to be donated to St Richards Hospice. New Year's Eve buffet and bubbles will be well supported. Our restaurant and licenced bar are very well supported on a daily basis with several varied menu choices catering for all dietary needs. |
