Eastbank Court had a very successful MacMillan coffee morning on the 27th September, raising an amazing £722. Money was raised from the lovely cakes made from the kitchen staff and the raffle, which was organised from one of the residents. Well done to all the residents, friends, family and staff who participated.

On the evening of 8th July, another very successful Summer BBQ took place at Eastbank Court. This event is always very popular with the residents and the weather couldn’t have been better for them to sit outside to enjoy all the lovely food, drink and company.
On 25th June a group of 12 residents had an outing to the Severn Valley Railway and visited the Engine House at Highley. This was a great success and enjoyed by everyone that attended.
On the evening of 9th May, Eastbank Court held a very successful Fine Dining Evening. This event went really well and was much enjoyed by all in attendance. It was a nice social occasion and a good opportunity to have a lovely selection of ‘Fine Dining’ food, all of which was expertly cooked by Nicki Hardy, Court Manager and Nicki McGonigle, Duty Manager. As you can see from the photographs, the food looked and tasted delicious! We also held a Chinese takeaway night in April, which was enjoyed by all.
At Eastbank Court the residents enjoy many other activities including coffee mornings, afternoon tea and 'Knit and Natter'. They also get to have a sing-along with Pat Dorman, who comes in to play the piano once a month. The Social Committee are currently very busy arranging trips for all to enjoy; The Hop Market in May, traveling on the Severn Valley Railway in June and a seaside visit to Burnham-on-Sea in August. Let's hope the sun will be shining! The Worcester Ukulele Bank played at Eastbank Court on 24th January, which proved to be very popular and a great success. You will see by the photographs that everyone had an enjoyable time.
The Social Committee arranged a trip to the Pantomime on 26th January to see Jack and the Beanstalk which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. - The Macmillan Coffee Morning went well, with a lot of the residents joining in to help raise a fantastic total of £675. - The Christmas party weekend was a busy one, catering for 130 owners and their families. The staff worked very hard to make the two days a success. - Mr Graham made a huge £610 from donations and the raffle, going towards St. Richards Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society. - The Court helped celebrate Mr Pringle’s 90th Birthday in October with tea and cakes for family, friends and owners. - The Social Committee have had a few days out. Shopping and refreshments at the Evesham Countryside Centre and the Worcester Cathedral to see all the decorated Christmas trees followed by a visit to St. Peter’s Garden Centre. - Further Christmas events included a Christmas Concert performed by Little Squirrels Early Years and Pre-school, and a Victorian Family’s Musical Christmas. - Both proved to be a great success, bringing the Christmas spirit to Eastbank Court. For Macmillan coffee morning we raised a great total of £675.67 at Eastbank Court.
All the building work at Eastbank Court is now fully complete and the car park is back to normal!
Three apartments have now been purchased at Eastbank Lodge. Owners continue to enjoy a busy social life at Eastbank Court – An outing to Barry Island and the Dyffryn Gardens had been arranged in August which had proved very popular on a lovely sunny day. Pat Dorman was still a regular visitor to the Court to play the piano and have a sing-a-long with the Owners, which is always great fun. Seated Yoga – Following the taster day, this is proving to be a great success and very well attended by Owners. Eastbank Court are getting ready for the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on 28th September. Mr Graham is busy collecting items for the Tombola. Eastbank Court's Summer barbeque was enjoyed by all; (even though it was too hot to stay outside)...
A massive congratulations to Eastbank Court's Manager Nicki on her marriage to Simon Hardy on Friday 8th June. Celebrations at Eastbank Court were enjoyed by all.
THE LODGE...
Eastbank Lodge is now complete, with our first Owners moving in during the beginning of May. There are now only 2 apartments remaining. WEDDING BELLS... Our Manager, Nicki Cook will soon become Mrs Nicki Hardy (no relation to Tom!) on her forthcoming Wedding on 8th June. We wish them all the happiness for the future. BUSY BUSY... Owners continue to enjoy a busy social life at Eastbank Court. The Classical Music Programme, which was arranged by Owners, is still going strong. Additionally, Pat Dorman has been a regular visitor to the Court to play the piano and have a sing-a-long with the Owners! An interesting talk about the Darjeeling Railway took place in March which proved to be very popular. A talk about the Droitwich Canal is due to take place at the end of April ahead of a planned boat trip for Owners. A Seated Yoga taster day was very well attended, and we look forward to this being a successful exercise class for all Owners to enjoy. Owners will also enjoy a well-attended Summer BBQ in July, which always proves to be a great success. The sale of another apartment is complete, leaving 2 new apartments and 5 re-sales. The new build, housing 6 apartments, is entering phase 3, with 4 apartments already reserved.
The Platinum Wedding Anniversary Celebrations held at the Court for Mr and Mrs Atkins was a lovely event and a fabulous cake was made by Claire our cook. Our Christmas Party weekend was held on the 9th and 10th of December for Owners and their families, which was very well attended. Further Christmas Celebrations involved Carol Singers, a Christmas Past and Christmas Present event, and tea and mince pies held by the resident Church Group. Mr Graham’s Christmas raffle was very successful raising £520 for charity, being split between the Alzheimer’s Society and St Richard’s Hospice. To get the Christmas festivities started the Social Committee arranged a Christmas Shopping Trip to the Hop Pocket, a visit to Webbs Garden Centre and a trip to the local Pantomime to see Aladdin. The Social Committee also organised for Worcester Ukulele Band to come and perform in the Restaurant on the 25th of January. It was very well attended and a fun night was had by all. The Committee plan to invite them back in a few months’ time. Home Instead are holding a cheese and wine event with a quiz and great prizes are on offer during the evening of the 13th of February. |
